Team fobs

image

I made these for my daughters softball team to put on their bags. They are made of Shrinky Dinks that  I printed of their team logo. I then used  Embossing powder in my melting pot to shrink and coat them. I think they turned out pretty well. If my daughters were young I would be making tons of princess or Disney stuff with the printable Shrinky Dinks.image

Copper and bead bracelet

imageI had a lot of fun making this. My daughter said that it is totally me. I think she is right. A lot of times I make things for other people or other styles but this one really is me. I made it with really thick gauge copper wire. I got a new propane torch that heats higher. It has allowed me to work with the thicker copper.

Fish glass beads

imageI’ve had some more fun playing with glass. I found that I like making these fish and caterpillars as a fun way to learn the basic skills. It’s a lot more interesting than making plain round beads over and over. It’s definitely been a learning experience. If you’ve ever wanted to try it you should. Everything you need comes in a kit

My First Glass Beads

image

So for Christmas I got a glass bead making kit and I’ve finally gotten a chance to try it out.  The results were less than spectacular but making them was still fun. I want to make some jewelry with my own beads. But I think that will have to be further in the future when I have some more skills. I did have a lot of fun figuring out how to make a little caterpillar. I was pretty please with thatimage I also like this frog

Here’s the caterpillar. image

What Brings You Joy?

image

I had the opportunity to meet a wonderful young woman last night. Her name is Josie Thompson.  I would call her a blogger/crusader extraordinaire. She has travelled around the country, interviewing 444 people asking them what helps them get out of bed in the morning. It’s pretty inspirational when you figure in the fact that she has bipolar disorder. She calls her it The 444 project.  In March she is taking the project to Europe but the new question will be “What Brings You Joy?” I was very inspired by her so I painted this and gave it to her. Check out her website  JosieThompson.com
